Let's talk food...

Originally, I wanted to do a neat little thing, similar to Kendall's photo-per-run endeavor, where I documented all of my dinners in Europe. I knew it might get tedious, but I didn't anticipate trashing the idea by day 2, haha. Needless to say, I have yet to take a picture of my meals in Spain, but oh well. I got the meals on the flight at least:

Dinner:
Because of my lack of running for the day (remember my Lent sacrifice?), I skipped the cake. And because of my lack of interest in neck meat, I skipped most of the pesto chicken, too.

and breakfast:
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that we were served Milanos on the way to Milano? (Am I using "ironic" incorrectly?). No eggs and bacon for Mediterraneans: breakfast is always sweet-- Yogurt, a chocolate croissant, and cookies (and...powdered milk. No grazie.)

The first night in town, I had a simple dinner with Fernando at his house-- salad and Spanish "tortilla," which is nothing like a Mexican tortilla, and more like a potato quiche/omelet thing. Both were tasty, and I was so tired that I didn't bother snapping a shot.

Last night, we went here for dinner, but for risk of looking tooooo much like the tourist I totally am, I kept the camera hidden. Internet photos will have to suffice. (vegetarians, look away)
Mmmm....Museo del Jamon, where the bocadillos are 1€ and the cured haunches of pigs hang from the wall by the hundreds. Jaja, I linked bocadillos and it's a Spanish version of wikipedia. I'm leaving it. Actually, it's funny, I can't seem to get Google off of Spanish either, so it's a good thing I know where all the important buttons are on Blogger

  1. i scrapped the running thing after a month and a half. one of those things where its a fun idea at the time. but in practice (literally) was troublesome. besides the fact that it was starting to be evidence of how many runs i was skipping (not the problem with meal photos, at least i wouldn't think so. haha) so did you get a run in for those cookies? or is it dessert if its breakfast? oooh deep.

    1. Haha, good catch, but I actually gave them to my host family, along with some Hershey's candy as a gift from America. The chocolate croissant, however....totally breakfast, not dessert ;)

  2. Maria - my first trip to Europe was Spain - Madrid actually! I was a Sophomore in college and I have a picture somewhere of that same storefront with the pork hanging in the windows ;)

    Xoxo
